What’s the purpose and function of the DL-20 door lock?

 
Purpose: To keep the operator safe by locking the door in the closed position while the rotor is spinning.

Function: The door lock is a pneumatically operated mechanism. Normally closed, the DL-20 engages at the beginning of the SRD's 1st step and remains locked until the rotor stops at the end of the cycle.


The door lock also engages during loss of N2 and/or loss of electrical power.

Note: The door lock function can be bypassed when a technician operates the SRD in the diagnostic mode.
