34 Q: Are both controllers available on both Rhetech Gold Series SRDs and New Semitool SRDs?
A: The Rhetech PSC-107 comes standard on Rhetech Gold Series SRDs, while the Semitool PSC-108 comes standard on New Semitool SRDs. The PSC-108 is available as an upgrade for Gold Series SRDs, but the PSC-107 is not available on New Semitool SRDs.
35 Q: Can I upgrade my existing SRD with a PSC-107 or PSC-108 controller?
A: The PSC-107 and PSC-108 are not simply plug and play replacements…(jump) for older controllers. Along with a more a more capable and reliable controller, we’ve revamped the controls design with improvements in circuit and power distribution, controller access, and resistivity monitoring. All of these components would need to be replaced when doing a retro-fit. Therefore, it’s not cost effective to upgrade an older tool with new controllers.
36 Q: I have several SRDs in my fab with PSC-101 and/or PSC-102 controllers. Will my operators have to learn an entirely new controller in order to operate a PSC-107 or PSC-108 equipped SRD?
A: The PSC-107 and PSC-108 controllers…(jump) allow for easy operator use with intuitive, menu driven front displays.
37 Q: Can I still purchase an SRD with the PSC-101 or PSC-102 controller?
A: The PSC-101 and PSC-102 controllers…(jump) are no longer available on newly purchased tools. The PSC-107 and PSC-108 offer the same features as the PSC-101 and PSC-102, while also providing improved operator and process reliability. They also have easy trouble-shooting and repair, with easy to navigate screens and a consolidated electronics bay.
38Q: Will I still be able to get support for my PSC-101 and PSC-102 controllers?
A: YES!...(jump) Just like other legacy products, the PSC-101 and PSC-102 will continue to be supported with spare parts and technical service, for the foreseeable future.
