Could you use an additional million dollars for capital acquisition?

That's what one Rhetech customer is saving as they conclude a three tool acquisition program. Later this year, Rhetech will deliver to this North American IDM its third Equinox ECD™plating tool. Unique aspects of this program include:

  • It was a joint Semitool-Rhetech effort that delivered a mix of new and remanufactured tools, on-site tool modifications, and an integrated on-site service support contract.

  • It included Semitool process support, which provided the customer a benchmark to assess their own in-house process development results.
  • It provided separate tools for gold, silver, and copper plating, all for high volume manufacturing.

And the bottom line: compared with the price of new tools, this customer saved over a million dollars in capital costs.

Restoration or Repairs - What's the Answer?

It's about money. A poorly performing spray tool eats money - with high downtime, poor yield, and excessive maintenance costs. It can even push out product deliveries and hurt your credibility with your customers.

The question is this: Should you invest in the time and expense to fully restore your Semitool spray tool - or is on-site repair a better alternative?

Rhetech has developed a short checklist to help you make that decision. Our Spray Tool Operating Checklist is a one page, easy to use guide that can be completed in less than five minutes by a maintenance technician or service engineer. It's based on the idea that a combination of factors drive should drive your repair and restoration decisions:

  • A tool in good operating condition, but is nonetheless delivering poor yields, is probably being impacted by one or two easy to diagnose and repair problems. On-site repair is indicated.
  • A tool in poor operating condition and delivering poor yields and uptime is normally a good candidate for restoration. There's no guarantee that significant on-site repair work will get to the root cause of the performance problem.

Look over the checklist - how do your tools measure up? Got questions about restoration vs. repair? Contact your local sales representative for details.
