And, as always, Frequently Asked Questions … How can you expand your ECD plating capacity at a cost significantly less than the outright purchase of a new tool? This question was brought to Rhetech by a North American customer, and it highlights an issue many cost-conscious Semitool ECD equipment users face: While there is used Semitool plating equipment on the market, the configuration of these tools rarely matches the user's requirements. Rhetech responded to this customer's needs by engineering a remanufactured tool from the ground-up. Rhetech: Worked with the customer to develop a detailed configuration specification. Selected and remanufactured a tool from our inventory. Upgraded the plating tool with a Genmark robot. Replaced the power supply with one similar to those already used by the customer. Replaced the conventional anode plating chambers and chemical delivery system. Upgraded software to support the new ECD system. Installed the tool on the customer's site and assisted in the process qualification. This reconfigured four chamber tool is capable of plating two separate metals.     Rhetech Building Dedication Rhetech, Inc. dedicated its newly expanded Coopersburg, Pennsylvania manufacturing facility in a ceremony attended by employees, government & corporate officials and members of the Lehigh Valley economic development community. The dedication wraps up a year-long, two million dollar project which increased Rhetech's manufacturing space by fifty percent, modernized storage facilities, and expanded and upgraded parking and support infrastructure. The expanded facility now totals 32,000 square feet and can support over ninety employees. read press release SRD Reliability Upgrades New drive & motor for Semitool SRDs Starting in January 2008 Rhetech will begin shipping SRDs with a new motor and motor controller package. The major drivers behind this upgrade are reliability and standardization. The new motor controller consists of an off-the shelf controller module and RF filter integrated into a single package. The goal: to improve motor controller reliability by moving to mass-produced, off-the-shelf components. The new brushless motor is designed with dual voltage capability (110/220V), and will allow us to stock and use a single version of the motor. Higher volumes translate into a more reliable motor.
